The expand/hide the blog post is a good idea, that I first found from Annie's blog. The process is manual, but it works fine. When I read the "new automatic post summaries for blogger with thumbnails" from bloggerplugins, which impress me the most. It is just a marvelous work. Actually it is a work from bloggersphera that hack from wordpress. The automatic Read More Post is amazing. The similar work also explained by snaphow and the effect you can see here.
I give a link and complete guidance to setup the "Automatic Read More Plugin". You download the zip file 
upload the summary.js to your Google page and copy the link by using right click on the link on Google page. Now, follow the instructions in the zip file.
You make a preview of the setup before SAVE it finally.
